Update: The included activities and meals for points stays have been updated below.

The North Island Resort in the Seychelles recently joined Marriott and is by far and away the most luxurious Marriott property. With just 11 villas on the island, it’s considered one of the top hotels in the world. Each villa has a butler, private pool, and direct beach access.

Villa Bathroom

Included with the rate:

  • Private butler 24/7
  • Complimentary use of one island buggy per villa
  • Island “a la carte” breakfast in the privacy of your villa or at our restaurant “LaidBack”
  • Complimentary guided hikes, morning yoga sessions or snorkeling upon request
  • Access to all our children facilities, kids club, and unique activities such as tortoise adoption, tree planting, treasure hunts and much more including our program for children aged five years and above with our child activities minder.
  • Complimentary wireless internet.
  • Complimentary laundry service
  • All non-motorized activities and equipment: stand up paddle, 24h gym, kayaks, bicycles

Paid rates are in the realm of “if you have to ask, you can’t afford it.” 5 nights would set you back some 32,210.20 Euros after tax, or about $34,785!

That covers up to 4 adults or kids in the 2 bedroom villa:

Or, you can use 1,705,000 Marriott points. That’s a value of 2.04 cents per Marriott point.

My value for Marriott points has dropped from 0.8 cents to about 0.6 cents after recent devaluations, so that would be like spending $10,230 of points.

A bargain compared to the paid rates I suppose, but still an insane amount of points to spend on 5 nights in a hotel. The 5th night free award only discounts 85K points, which is probably because that’s the top category award on the Marriott award chart and they’re assessing an upgrade fee on top of that to book this property. The points upgrade fee isn’t subject to 5th night free.

But your stay still won’t be free. You’ll also need to shell out 1,628 Euros, about $1,758 for the short round-trip helicopter transfer from Seychelles airport to the island. That fee covers up to 4 passengers.

Flying Emirates Shower Class via Dubai to the North Island Resort on points might just be the pinnacle of this hobby. Stop off at the all inclusive Al Maha resort in Dubai, which is a real Marriott points bargain at 85K points for a $2K all-inclusive villa and you’ll have sealed the deal.

You can also fly Etihad via Abu Dhabi, Kenya via Nairobi, Qatar via Doha, Air France via Paris, British Airways via London, Ethiopian via Addis Ababa, Air Seychelles from Johannesburg, Mumbai, or Tel Aviv, Condor from Frankfurt, SriLanken via Colombo, Swiss/Edelweiss via Zurich, or Turkish via Istanbul with one stop from the US to the Seychelles.

Marriott cards include:

Anyone want to guess see how long it will take for a reader to do this and share a trip report on the DansDeals Forums?

Will you spend that many Marriott points to stay at the North Island Resort?

my bet is 2 weeks.

must be nice

Tanya Zuckerbot just did a whole Instagram story on staying here. I don’t think she had to ask the price.

If you could actually get full value from the all inclusive element, it’s really not bad. Not sure it’s “first pitch of game 7 of the world series” once-in-a-lifetime, but it sounds like one of the most aspirational redemptions possible.

Chaim

I know someone that was there. But not in that hotel he says it’s the nicest place ever…

Air Seychelles also flys from TLV

Did you ever stay at the Al Maha resort in Dubai? If yes, were you able to bring your own food?

avraham green

I just stayed in al maha they are very accommodating the chef there bought out brand new pots made us eggs for breakfast and warmed up our frozen food its a must go destination

If we talking abt blowing large amounts of points i would sooner blow 650k chase ur on the muraka at conrad mle so it’s actually something unique as opposed to just a nicer island and beach

rob

Ehh, if you compare it to the other top ultra-aspirational points-eligible properties, I honestly don’t think this is that much better.

The only thing that stands out compared to the upper .01% of the points world is that there are only 11 villas.

Is having 11 villas instead of 50 or 75 really worth paying 5x that amount in points?

I say no.

Was the Tanya ever printed there?
That should be a incentive to go…

Musa Abu Marzuk

you need to ask the local Chabad House

I stayed at the six senses Seychelles a few months ago. Just couldn’t justify the price of North Island.
