Update: 10/6 is the final day to file for this claim!

Apple iPhone Online Settlement Claim

Eligible devices are an iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, 7, 7 Plus, and/or SE devices that ran iOS 10.2.1 or later or iPhone 7 and 7 Plus devices that ran iOS 11.2 or later. Eligible members of the Settlement Class must meet the other requirements described in the notice.

Apple will provide a cash payment per eligible device (calculated as set forth below) to each Settlement Class Member who submits a timely and valid Claim Form including a serial number of an eligible device and a declaration under penalty of perjury stating that they are or were (1) a United States owner of an iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, 7, 7 Plus, and/or SE device (2) that ran iOS 10.2.1 or later or, in the case of iPhone 7 and 7 Plus devices, that ran iOS 11.2 or later before December 21, 2017, and (3) they experienced diminished performance on the device(s). Please see Question 10 for additional information.

Amount of Cash Payment: The cash payment per eligible device depends on the actual number of approved claims and other factors, including the award of attorneys’ fees and expenses and Named Plaintiff service awards. Under the proposed settlement, Apple shall pay a minimum of $310,000,000 (the “Floor”) and a maximum of $500,000,000 (the “Ceiling”). Under no circumstances shall any of the Floor revert to Apple.

Apple will provide a cash payment of approximately $25 per eligible device, provided that Apple will not pay more than $500 million in aggregate to the Settlement Class Members. If the total value of approved claims submitted exceeds the $500 million Ceiling, the value of each approved claim (per eligible device) will be reduced on a pro rata basis. Additionally, under the proposed settlement, if the total value of approved claims submitted by Settlement Class Members does not exceed the $310 million Floor, the value of each approved claim (per eligible device) may be increased on a pro rata basis, up to a maximum of $500 per device. I’m putting in my serial number and it’s saying not eligible

Yitz

Mines saying it’s not a valid serial number, but I copied and pasted

Chaim

whatever happened to the equifax class action settlement? we never expected the full 125, but were hoping for something. Anyone have any idea why this case is still stuck in the courts and whether we will actually ever get anything?

Jacob

I have 5 phones that are eligible. 2 iPhone 7plus, 2 iPhone SE and an iPhone 6. I have in my hand all except for the iPhone 6. None of the serial numbers say eligible but when I use the find my aerial number somehow the iPhone 6 is found and submitted.

Go figure.

jonny

submitted, thank you

Yitz

Where can I find the serial number?

Big_Yitz

It tells you on the website. Either check the back of your phone, or go to settings-about-aerial number.

Ed

If you have a backup on your PC in itunes go to edit>preferences and hover over a backup

form is a load of garbage. im looking at my old SE and filling out the serial number. Not eligible. Huh? Then I fill out my name. not eligible? Maybe I should email my se in with the paper form. not worth a Stamp for $25

Person

Last I checked a stamp is less than $25…

bigissy

not by much

Ed

I believe that it had to have been running iOS 12 in 2017 in order to be eligible. Or something like that….iow-not every iPhone listed is eligible

Ed

Per howtogeek.com
You may be entitled to settlement benefits if you are or were (1) a United States owner of an iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, 7, 7 Plus, and/or SE device (2) that ran iOS 10.2.1 or later or, in the case of iPhone 7 and 7 Plus devices, that ran iOS 11.2 or later before December 21, 2017, and (3) you experienced diminished performance on your device(s).

Al

I live in U.S. but bought my phone used from someone in Canada. It says not eligible

willie

same problem… saying serial number is incorrect

Josh

same issue iPhone 7 not eligible…

Dave

I gave up with Apple a longgg time ago (I’m much happier with a Samsung). The Apple stores and apple products love “shtick” where reliability of the phone begins to dwindle when they would like you to upgrade to the newest phone. Had that issue with multiple iphones. Never had an issue with the Galaxy.

Ruvy

Another reason why you should be using Android

LS

I’d love to type in my serial number but my 7 PLUS stopped working when i upgraded it and was basically dead so I TRADED IT IN. I would think a lot of people did the same.

If you do not know the Serial Number of your iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, SE, 7 or 7 Plus, you may be able to locate your Serial Number by filling in the below information to utilize the Search Tool.

Bit confused

How is everyone able to certify that they noticed their iPhone experienced diminished performance in 2017?

Ed

Here’s to why your phone may not be eligible:
As per howtogeek.com
You may be entitled to settlement benefits if you are or were (1) a United States owner of an iPhone 6, 6 Plus, 6s, 6s Plus, 7, 7 Plus, and/or SE device (2) that ran iOS 10.2.1 or later or, in the case of iPhone 7 and 7 Plus devices, that ran iOS 11.2 or later before December 21, 2017, and (3) you experienced diminished performance on your device(s).

Thingywingy

The form requires an affirmation that I experienced diminished performance on my device. How do I know if there was diminished performance?

Eric

It says my iPhone 7 is eligible but I didn’t experience any “diminished performance”.

mayday

i used the search function on the settlement page and it found my serial number.

Kelly GC

where do i find my apple ID? Serial doesnt recognize – why?

I am wondering

If the form goes through does that mean I am eligible? When will we get the money? Btw I is up to 500 dollars

Kelly GC

There was an error processing your request, please try again.

BusyBody

US citizens residing outside the US are not eligible.

Gita

This website has a few malfunctions it has no option to go lowercase so the apple password is not acurate the serial number though exactly The way it shows on my iphone sais inaccurate so i think this does not seem to be a legit website

HelpMe

Thanks! Had two sitting around.

Dave

Good luck actually getting money. That’s Apple for you…..

Rona Szn

Dan It would be a lot more helpful if you would write that this only applies to people who ran iOS 12 under phones before 2017
