Update, 5/25: This deal ended last night, but American appears to be honoring this fare and the nonstop fare. Additionally, nearly all tickets sold are fully refundable, so you can decide to cancel until the time of departure.
Readers and commenters have also noted that they have been able to change their return date without any any difference in fare!
You can credit an American W class premium economy ticket to BA Avios (which allows family pooling) and earn 150% of the miles flown (at least 17K Avios), or you can credit to Alaska and earn 110% of the miles flown, plus any applicable elite bonuses.
Update: DEAD!

OneWorld carriers and El Al have premium economy flights from Tel Aviv to several US cities, such as NYC, Chicago, Honolulu, LA, Miami, and more for just $219 one-way or $395 round-trip!
A connection appears to be required.
This fare is only valid for flights originating in Tel Aviv. It won’t work for flights originating in the US.
You can book this AA’s Israel site here, or via Momondo, or Israeli booking sites. You can search for TLV to NYC to pull up this fare.
I found many valid dates from now through the end of scheduling next year.
Sample valid date: July 5-12
Post what dates and prices you find!

Is there still a chance this will become alive again?
Hood news!
After chatting with AA online I confirmed that you can cancel these flights up to 14 days from booking, for 100 ILS ($30)
Thank you for your patience, Moshe! I have contacted Resolutions team as well and this is the information I have confirmed.
We have a specific policy about Israel Refund. This is for ticket refunds according to the Israeli Consumer Protection Law (5741-1981). It is showing that Refund is requested in writing within 14 days of the purchase date, but no less than 7 business days before the departure date of the first flight, A cancellation fee applies
5% of the ticket’s price or ILS currency 100, whichever is lower, Refund will be processed to original form of payment (FOP), then Customer needs to access prefunds.aa.com.
$235 BA ON JULY 26 PREMIUM 1 WAY
Any risk in calling them now?
Cheapest price I am seeing is $2,200 round trip!!
Will this be honored ?
Dead??
Long
How can I tell if my reservation is completely refundable up to departure? Seems certain bookings are.
Congrats to everyone that got in on this deal! Is it possible to upgrade premium economy to business using points? How would one check if there is upgrade availability before purchasing? TIA
Truly Amazing,
I was able today to make a change in the reservation, changed the return flight to a day earlier at no addition cost.
Wow, what routing did you book? Did you try changing to a nonstop?
Dan, how would one go about this? I called and she simply quoted the new fare. Is there some special language to ask the agent to reprice it? Does the fare basis code allow for a change to a non-stop? It seems it may but can’t figure out how to actually do that. Cannot be done online.
R/T TLV – JFK on BA metal. didn’t try non-stop.
actually fare code specifically excludes non-stop. did you call them, avi? chat? just curious how you got it done. cant be done online.
Called, couldn’t be done online.
Who’d you book with? Who’d you contact to change date?
I booked with AA directly, contacted AA, was able to change a British Airways ticket.
Nice!
I had a reservation that I pit on hold & was going to pay in the morning , when I went to pay it was cancelled , do I have any recourse ?
No. Never hold fares like these.
a mistake I will not make again 🙁
How do you possibly get to earning 34,000 Avios? My calculations are half that.
Fat fingered the calculator.
Fixed, thanks.
can you be more clear to what you mean with american “Appears ” and how you get to 34,00 miles
In general, airlines have a limited window to cancel tickets like these.
Given that there have not been cancellations by now, it appears to be honored.
i have a 36K aa miles ticket booked on same flight and i want to cancel asap so they don’t auto cancel my premium economy for duplicate its not available to rebook for that would you feel comfortable canceling ?
I would at this point.
How can you tell if your ticket is fully refundable or not?
You can call the airline to confirm, but it seems that all of these were refundable.
can you please help me, trying to book but can’t seem to find anything under 219$ + 80k points. per ticket aug 9-24
Do you think the free changes allow for a different airport ( a different stopover location) and date change?
I tried making a change, was told is was a mistake and would be honored but no changes. Dan, are you saying free changes based on comments here or something I can do to make a change?
“WHEN THERE ARE NO CHANGES TO THE FIRST FARE
COMPONENT BUT OTHER FARE COMPONENTS ARE CHANGED
THE ITINERARY MUST BE REPRICED USING HISTORICAL
FARES IN EFFECT ON THE PREVIOUS TICKETING DATE OR
CURRENT FARES IN EFFECT ON THE DATE OF TICKET
REISSUE WHICHEVER IS LOWER.”
yeah but translate this. i booked a one way. i can change to any day without a fare increase?
I have the question. Any been successful doing that ?
From what was posted on here, and just by reading the comments it seems that customers have been able to change the return leg only on a return flight. Hence if you have a one way it wouldn’t work.
But why don’t you call American and find out for yourself…
My first leg is TLV-FCO on LY booking Code Y.
Would it still be refundable?
How about to credit the miles to American direct how much do we get ?
I assume 1:1
Very little.
You would earn 5 miles per dollar spent, excluding taxes.
Thanks Dan! Would you mind to refer me to a post where it’s best to Credit united flights?
Depends on the fare class.
K class
Depends what the ticket cost, but I’d probably do Lifemiles or Turkish with 50% of flown miles credit.
Thanks!
try to get tickets fron june 13 tlv to nyc , how can u still book?
I try at AA Israel. And it’s not this price.
I like to get some different websites. Please
“Update, 5/25: This deal ended last night”
Daniel, I have no words!
I’m an Israeli and travel to USA couple times a year. I’m in USA at the moment and was awake and manage to take good advantage of this deal. Thank you Daniel, I booked 4 round trips for the next couple of months.
Most on BA Metal (besides a few, connect on AA but all route through London so as to maximise TP)
4 return flights, will get me BA Gold + some 84k+/- (once you reckon the bonuses for Bronze, Silver etc.)
With the current value of BA avios, it’ll almost half the price of the ticket, as you’ll be getting close to $200 worth. Great deal, so glad they are honouring.
Thank you again Daniel
Anyone have any tips about changes – every change I try is $3k per ticket!
I dunno. Got out of bed at 2:30 am to grab this deal, but am only seeing outrageous fares.
Thanks for the heads-up.
I cancelled my kid’s mileage ticket (25k flying blue miles + $150 in fees & taxes) and bought a $270 premium economy with 2 free checked bags instead from TLV-BCN-ORD (Y for 1st leg and W for 2nd leg).
What i dont understand is how i can earn 17K avios by crediting my ticket to BA (or to Alaska and earn 110% of the miles flown)?
Just enter your BA or Alaska mileage number to get the flight miles credited there.
besides BA/Alaska, what other airlines could i get them credited to? 1st leg (in Y) is AA/EL-AL while the 2nd (W class) is AA.
miles flown while in W is only around 4500 so how able to earn 17,000 avios (even from tlv-jfk is around 5500)?
Trying to figure out what an EXP with AA would earn on TLV-LHR-CLT-PHX one way and if I should credit to AA or do BA.
2 one-way premium economy tickets (THANKS DAN!) tlv-nyc with LHR stop (1st leg BA – 2nd leg AA). They’re both W class fare.
Really want to change it to TLV-NYC direct (which I see available for that date). Tried chatting with an AA agent and was told i can change but it’s gonna cost me $3700…
is it the “with-stop” to “direct” that’s giving them the excuse to charge this 1000% upcharge, or is it “BA-AA” to “AA only” (or is it a simple YMMV/HUCA kind of thing)?
Not sure either.
It appears that only the return leg is changeable.
I’m trying to change my return with no success. Maybe because it’s a combination of Economy and PE?
On another note, based on peoples comments here maybe Dan should consider new fonts/design for the word DEAD. This was written on the post at 11:30 EST on 5/24, yet it seems like lots of readers are still trying.
Where am I best off crediting miles NYC-MAD (Y) MAD-JFK (W) we are a family of 7
BA. Open household account if you don’t have already.
tried changing dates and no go. wanted fare difference of $3700.
One way?
yes
Exact same situation here..
3700 is what I got too
