Southwest is facing a major problem. They locked in a price on gas for a term of many years that is coming to an end. This is why they have always been profitable. We will see what happens when the contract is up.

Dan,

Firstly, do you have/does it pay to get the Southwest Credit Card since they give you free flights for approx. $18k spent?

Also a few off-topic questions for you.

Firstly, when I opened cards that have annual fee’s – I understood from you that there is a way not to have to pay that fee, can you clarify what needs to be done to save myself all those $85 fees please?

Secondly, if I have a chunk of money that I want to pay off using a 0% APR card, what is my best option (I think I used up all my CitiCard options now) and is there something I need to be aware of before putting all that money on another card (or 3) that will hurt my credit score?

Finally, I never fully understood “Churning” . . am I able to combine different ‘company’ cards as long as they are visa or MC or Amex, or do they need to be the same card with the same company (i.e. no business with personal, no delta amex with starwoods amex?)
