Delta only releases limited saver economy award seats for their partners to book to Israel and practically never opens saver business class award seats for their partners to book to Israel.
But Delta’s flying to Israel is currently suspended through 3/29 and they have released an incredible amount of saver award space for when they currently intend to return to the market. Of course, that return date can change, but hopefully thanks to their new El Al partnership it will stick.
This availability is a true unicorn, and on most dates there are enough seats to book at least 9 passengers! Grab it while it lasts!
You can’t book these with Delta miles, you’ll have to use partner award miles such as:
- You can book one-way Delta coach awards for 39K Air France/KLM Flying Blue miles and Delta business class awards for 110.5K Air France/KLM Flying Blue miles. There are no fuel surcharges. Bookable online from Air France. Cancelations or changes cost 50 Euros.
- You can book one-way Delta coach awards for 49.5K Virgin Atlantic points and Delta business class awards for 130K Virgin Atlantic points . There are no fuel surcharges. Bookable online from Virgin Atlantic. Cancelations or changes cost the lower of taxes paid or $50.
- You can book one-way Delta coach awards for 55K El Al Matmid points and Delta business class awards for 200K El Al Matmid points. There are no fuel surcharges. You’ll need to call El Al to book partner awards, so may the odds be ever in your favor!
Of course, if Delta cancels their flights, you can get a refund or ask for rebooking on another airline, but the refund would go to the mileage program and not back to the bank if you transfer points there.

Delta One suites:
You can read more about Delta’s A350 suites here and in this trip report. Note that the A330 suites used on the Tel Aviv route are a bit narrorower than the A350.
You can transfer points from any bank to Air France or Virgin Atlantic instantly with a 1:1 ratio.
Will you book Delta award tickets to Israel?

So now the standard is for Business to cost 3-4 times as much as economy in miles?
2.6x-2.8x with AF or VS, but yes, the trend is that way.
How do I book this with Chase points?
As the post says, transfer to Air France for the lowest rates.
What’s smoking hot about this?
A one-way Delta business suite to Israel is normally 500,000 Delta miles or $6,000.
This is 110K points and has wide open space. I haven’t seen any business partner award dates on this route in years.
Smoking hot for 110k business fares…. how in the world did we get here ?

WOW would be sufficient
Smoking would be if it would be for 110k round trip….
Hard disagree.
WOW for be for 3 dates being available with 2 seats each. Haven’t seen that in years on Delta.
Wide open with 9+ seats for the entire year is a game changer and arguing otherwise is just showing mileage amaratzus.
“Mileage amaratzus” lmao Go Dan!
Unprecedented does not make something SMOKING HOT. If DL started charging 300K skymiles each way would u also say it’s a game changer if there were 9 seats available all year?
Amaratzus intensifies.
This is the lowest price possible, a partner business saver award. Finding a non-stop business partner saved on any US airline is a unicorn and a great deal that you drop everything for.
Anything here for a no-pointer?
Nope. Start opening some credit cards!

Anything from other cities ? Like MIA/FLL ?
You can try searching for that, but otherwise, just book a separate positioning flight to NYC.
what about from los angeles
You can try searching for that, but otherwise, just book a separate positioning flight to NYC.
Why is this smoking hot? This past summer I booked Elal business class for 90K Qantas points.
1. El Al business class is not a Delta One suite with private doors.
2. That availability via Qantas is rare.
3. There is never 9+ seats available at that rate.
4. El Al doesn’t allow carseats in business, while Delta does.
Etc.
If someone doesn’t understand the value of a Delta One suite to TLV for 110k points and the wide open availability to book them on those dates, then I’m not sure why they’re even in this game.
Thank you for posting this and I wish I was a person who could make a quick decision because I’m sure these will be gone so fast. For those who do understand this is certainly HOT!
Exactly.
No one is claiming this is not a deal. There are just levels of deals and hotness
This kind of availability (tons of dates with 9+ seats) is unprecedented and therefore smoking hot.
The end.
Most readers probably haven’t amassed over 500k points, so these numbers are hard to justify. Not everyone was in the game when you could buy dollar coins from the mint send money to people on amazon, open 3 citi cards per month and apply for 4+ cards in one sitting.
You can literally open 8 Ink cards today between 2 spouses for close to 1M points.
Not all readers have a spouse.
You can (I definitely did), but most won’t. I was under the impression that premier was cash back only and not points?
I’m with you on this post having been Smoking Hot while it lasted, but I have to say that opening 8 credit cards in 1 day and meeting the spend organically is probably not doable for the average Joe and Jane. I’m not a fan of manufactured spend or other ways of generating spend that might get you into trouble or even just into debt and I know your always write disclaimers stating as much. So that’s why it’s possible that many people haven’t amassed the amount of points needed to even do a round trip for a couple (440k points) and therefore this isn’t such a great deal for them.
WHT TAXES SO HIGH OVER $2500
You are not looking at the Delta nonstop flights.
If you normally pay for business, even with points, this is indeed smoking hot! Biz has gotten very expensive!!
Correct, especially nonstop.
Agree this is hot. I would consider this very very hot by Dan Standards (or triple smoking sizzling hot by JJ’s 😉 )
Here is the question. What are the chances if you book the Delta Biz class flight using Air France Miles that they will then re-accommodate you on ELAL in business (same date or similar) if Delta doesn’t end up re-starting flying for your dates. If chances are pretty good or more than I would definitely have this as smoking hot by all standards.
actually, curious to know since this could be very helpful if that’s the case
Seems unlikely. They would probably offer you an Air France option or a refund as they aren’t partners with El Al.
That being said, I wouldn’t say it’s impossible.
i confirmed with 2 separate delta customer service reps that they’d rebook me on el al if the flight got cancelled.i then transferred miles and booked and today the flight got cancelled and they are refusing to rebook me. what are my options? i have no use for the air france miles
Not sure why you’d ask Delta when you booked from Air France.
because i confirmed with them before i booked,i thought their being partners with el al would enable them to rebook me. Any chance air france will transfer the miles back? or book me on el al? Thanks
When I try to transfer my amex points to air france/klm flying blue, It says 1000 amex points = only 750 flying blue points. Is that correct, or am I doing something wrong?
Are you in the US and on the US site?
I am in New York. I went to the Amex website. I have 213,007 Amex points, almost enough for 2 one way bus class flights, plus I have enough Chase points for the return and the extra points I would need to add to my Amex.
The Amex website is telling me 1000 points = 750 air france klm flying blue.
.Maybe I’m trying to transfer from the wrong website?
Oops! Sorry. I just found the correct way to do 1000 = 1000.
What were you doing wrong?
Booked in biz! Tanks for the deal
Congrats!
no normal dates from tlv-nyc
Over 100 dates each way and you can’t make any work?
there’s nothing by March 31 and the whole beginning of April and the beginning of May is the same thing in other words the beginning and end of bein hazmanim has no availability whatsoever…. I’m sure it’s great for ppl that could fly on chol hamoed and right after shabbos but from all the dates I looked at there was nothing that worked
Not available with Delta Miles, I logged into my Delta and economy is 80,000 JFK-TLV or TLV-JFK
That’s what I wrote in the post 🙂
I understand it’s definitely a deal being the wide open availability and available to all however I fly united Polaris on average for $4000 roundtrip that’s 400k Amex centurion points I get back 50% making my roundtrip 200k so 100k each way . Newark over JFK.. I earn crazy mileage as it’s a cash fare united 1k member etc..
I’m sure the delta suite is nicer then Polaris but….
Your average person doesn’t have a credit card with a $10000 initiation fee and $5000 annual fee. So I’m not sure of the relevance to most people…
But his point would be relevant for those that have the business platinum card and get back 35%
with the business platinum it would be 260k or 130k 1 way same price that VS is charging…
Understood. But even with platinum when you count the united mileage you will earn plus the pqp you earn towards status can’t just this delta suite…
Status is pretty meaningless if you’re flying premium cabins anyway. Just a hamster wheel the airlines invented.
Also, this is available one way, and it’s a suite, and it’s cheaper than with Platinum.
I happen to value status but regardless the earnings of miles earned via Amex as it’s cash ticket vs. award travel no earned Miles. In my example on a $4k ticket roundtrip to Israel I earned
41,888 united miles! (I am 1k)
What is the ratio when I transfer the points from chase?
1:1
Do you think the other airlines will follow suit? I am already sitting on a bunch of aa and ua points, and would prefer to use those
Hi how does this work with booking for infant under 2 it’s saying under 12 not allowed to travel for work
How does the Delta suites compare to UA Polaris?
The suite is overrated. EWR is better than JFK.
Booked myself wife and kid in business. Thank you Dan! When you mention Delta cancelling that’s because of the war or price mistake? More importantly, I saw on Flying Blue it said we will give a free seat for a parent near the child.. should I cancel child seat? Don’t know how business would work for such a little kid but want myself and wife to be in business so did business for kid too
It wasn’t allowing me to add infant. How did u do that?
That’s a seat assignment in the same cabin
Same bh booked 3 tickets biz nyc-Tlv thanks Dan! Tbh as good as the opportunity is, I wasn’t sure about spending 330k on one way flights… so I booked anyways and figured worst case I can cancel and I’ll have the points in AF which are def usable.
Any tips on how to get the best rate for a lap infant. In my experience every time I call up it’s a different price and can range between $500-$1500. Also is it bookable on both delay and airfrance?
oof!
Thanks @Dan As always, booked 2 Biz tickets with AF
@dan which dates are still avail
How do I book Delta on Virgin without tax? I am trying for round trip 2 tickets. The taxes are over $4143
You’re not selecting Delta non-stops.
how do I do that? I asked chatgpt. they told me the same. where on Virgin is this option?
thanks dan! booked a ticket for the hottest season “bein hazmanim” for 39k when the same economy tickets one way are $1700
Congrats!
Anyone else having issues with af website right now?
wow booked a nice few seats for Tishrei!!!! Thanks.
Seems that now all Delta inventory was pulled….
If cancel, are the miles returned to Airfrance/Virgin and then “stuck” there or can they somehow be transferred back to Chase?
Can never move them back to chase once transferred out.
Stuck
Stuck
Would they rebook on LY if they cancel a flight booked with a partner?
@dan if I boon thru VA can I score the buy 1 get 2nd ½ off the miles
that offer only on virgin metal
No problems getting a flight via Virgin now. Thankd
I cant put in tlv for my requested flight
why does Flying Blue show 110k price then when I book it drops to 96k + $600 Yq !?
What’s the taxes for the economy and if I cancel is it 50 euro per way or booked as round trip would be 50 euro in total.
Thanks
On air France not allowing me to proceed with booking to see details is this because I didn’t transfer the miles yet?
If i book round trip on AF will i pay 100 Euro to cancel or 50?
and will i be able to change or cancel only one way?
The deal of the decade! just booked tlv-nyc via VS points.
thank you Dan!
Is there any Skyteam airline that can book Delta flights with miles other than Air France?
Every date I tried from tlv nyc in business is dead.
Not available on AF anymore
and dead
Looks like the pulled the space? it’s all gone instantly. I was mid booking and have miles stuck in AF. if it returns please lmk!
@Dan is this dead?
got 2 tickets but still looking for more
Appears dead now. Almost certainly was a mistake.
Is it dead for Economy too or only business?
I accidentally booked Thursday night not realizing the time difference with landing would be right before Shabbos. Ant ideas anyone? Devastated here…
Dead for Business, is it still alive for Economy?
I booked 3 delta one studio from LAX-SYD using Virgin points. 495K points for 15 hours non stop flight for family.
what are the odds this deal comes back
Will the deal come back
I doubt it. Probably a mistake, despite all the kvetchers commenting.
if delta cancels my flight would thay rebook me on elal ?
I booked these tickets back then for Thanksgiving week for the wife and I (thanks Dan! Legit the deal of the year if the flights actually go…) but Delta now changed the departure times on all the late night flights. My motza shabbos flight now was changed to leave NY on shabbos afternoon. I called Air France and they would only allow me to rebook another Delta flight, they won’t switch me to El Al because it’s a points ticket. Is there anything to be done or do I just have to switch to a Delta flight on the next day?
I have the same issue with my business class tix was scheduled to leave motzei Shabbos and is now for Shabbos afternoon, delta tried helping me but ultimately since a flying blue reward tix they couldn’t help, tried flying blue/Air France they can only change to a flight that they have reward inventory. Any ideas?? I HUCA about 20 times! Both delta and Air France no help
