Air Canada’s Aeroplan mileage program was designed by former Continental Airlines’ mileage junkies executives and it shows.
In an era of award charts being eliminated, they continue to maintain them. They are also continually adding airline partners outside of their 27 Star Alliance partners, including Aer Lingus, Aeromar, Air Creebac, Air Dolomiti, Air Mauritius, Air Serbia, Azul, Bamboo Airways, Calm Air, Canadian North, Cathay Pacific, Central Mountain Air, Emirates, Etihad, Eurowings, Eurowings Discover, GOL, Gulf Air, Juneyao Airlines, Middle East Airlines, Olympic Air, Oman Air, SriLankan, SunExpress, Virgin Australia, and Vistara.
The program is great for 6K mile short-haul awards that can be booked the day of the flight. But Air Canada is also deepening their ties to Star Alliance airlines.
For example, while Singapore typically blocks long-haul business class space to Star Alliance Airlines, they make it available for Air Canada Aeroplan to book.
Air Canada also allows stopovers for 5K miles and you can build round-the-world tickets and more.
Plus, Air Canada charges fewer miles than Singapore and you can combine flights with other Star Alliance airlines!

Newark to Singapore for 87.5K Aeroplan miles in business class:
Cleveland to Singapore, not available on Singapore.com, but bookable for 87.5K Aeroplan miles in business class:
Air Canada miles can also now be used on Emirates.
For a limited time, you can book Emirates coach and business class tickets using the regular Air Canada award chart.
Starting in early 2023 you’ll even be able to book Emirates First Class (or as I’ve called it, Shower Class), but unfortunately, the airline will have a more expensive award chart that will apply for any Air Canada awards that also includes flight segments on Emirates. No other partner airlines can book Emirates First Class and when you book with Emirates, you can pay thousands of dollars in fuel surcharges, while Air Canada doesn’t charge fuel surcharges. Plus you can add in other airlines onto an award with Emirates flights.
In the meantime, you can book coach and business class tickets for a bargain before the new chart goes into effect when first class tickets become available.

Just booked to TLV in J with emirates via ATH for 70k.
Anyway to upgrade to first via emirates?
Most of the time you can upgrade at the check-in counter for additional 30K points
Have done it plenty of times
Isn’t that only if booked with Emirates miles?
You didn’t mention TLV-DXB on EK for 12.5 in economy or 20K in business.
Once they go to the dynamic pricing it will be interesting to see how they price. On the downside for Aeroplan, they have just snuck in a new US tax recovery charge of over $20USD per direction for Canada-US travel.
Any MIA-TLV?
The stopover feature is great as well
Since when does Emirates fly from Newark?
With a stop in Athens
Any luck pricing in DXB-MLE in J with EK using Aeroplan
How are you getting the emirates seats to price? When I search on the EK website, DXB-SEA shows saver availability. When I check on expert flyer, it shows 7 seats available at saver level, but on AC it shows no results at all. I even called AC and they can’t see the space either. Just seems really inconsistent what space AC can access.
the only downside to air Canada Aeroplan miles is actually to book saver awards on air Canada metal as most of the time its actually cheaper to book with other star alliances airlines as air Canada is dynamic on their own flights
When is the new chart taking effect?
“Early 2023”
TBD.
Anyway to find out if the awards are Phantom?
I want to book to tlv via AUH
I don’t think Air Canada displays any phantom award space.
They certainly do. You need to call aeroplan and a phone rep can verify. I found multiple phantom awards in First this past week.
