Incentives on paid stays:
Hyatt is currently offering triple points, starting with your 2nd stay, through 9/15. They are also offering elites 2,500 points for their first stay, even if it’s an award stay.- Hyatt announced today that they will open registration for a new promo starting in October that will offer triple points, starting with your first stay, from 10/1/20-1/4/21 at all hotels worldwide. Registration will close on 11/30. You will get bonus points for any stay with a checkout date of 10/1/20-1/4/21, regardless of when it was booked. You can earn up to 150K bonus points with this promo.
- Hyatt also announced that if you have a Hyatt or World of Hyatt credit card then you’ll get quadruple points at 160 participating Hyatt resort properties, 200 SLH properties, and a handful of MGM Resort Destinations. That list will be published on 10/1. You can earn up to 75K additional bonus points with this promo.
- Hyatt normally awards 5 points per dollar spent, so you’ll earn 15 points per dollar spent with this promo or 20 points per dollar if you are a cardholder at select hotels. Additionally, elites will earn their standard 0.5-1.5 points per dollar spent and Chase World Of Hyatt Credit Cardholders also earn 4 points per dollar spent on their card. As a Globalist cardholder, I could earn 25.5 points per dollar spent at select hotels, which is equal to a whopping 41% rebate at a value of 1.6 cents per point. That’s pretty incredible, though I was really hoping to see a return of Faster Free Nights as hotels try to incentivize people back to travel!
Rebate on award stays:
- Hyatt is also currently offering 15% points rebate on award stays through 10/8. If you have a Hyatt or World of Hyatt credit card then you’ll get a 25% points rebate. There are some amazing bargains on regular awards, plus insane deals on suites and premium suite awards that have been added online.
- Hyatt has announced that registration will be extended through 12/1 and you can earn rebates for stays through 1/4/21. See this post for registration links.
Elite tier incentives:
- Hyatt has already extended current elite status set to expire on 2/28/21 through 2/28/22.
- Hyatt has announced that members making paid or award stays between 10/1/20-12/31/21 will receive 1 2020 AND 1 2021 elite qualifying night for each night stayed!
Free parking:
- Hyatt is also currently offering free parking on all award stays through 10/8, and Globalists get free parking on all stays through 10/8. Of course Hyatt never charges resort fees on award stays, so a free stay can really be free thanks to free parking as well!
- Hyatt has announced that the free parking promotions will be extended through 1/4/21.
Other offers:
- There is a targeted Chase Offer for 10% off $100+ Hyatt stays, up to $25 back.
- There is a targeted Chase Offer for 15% off $100+ Hyatt stays, up to $38 back.
- There is a targeted AMEX Offer for $50 off $250+ in total Hyatt spending through 11/10.
- Hyatt is offering discounted Work from Hyatt packages with unique benefits like a dedicated workspace and much more. You can book these packages with cash or points.
- You can stack the award rebate promotion with the Miraval BOGO promotion.
- Hyatt is offering 500 points for stays in new hotels.
Will these incentives get you to stay in a Hyatt hotel?

When I register for the 15% rebate offer. I get an error that I’m not eligible for the 15% rebate on award stays.
Any help?
Try contacting Hyatt.
I didn’t see it mentioned, but I also have a $50 off $250 amex offer for Hyatt. Any recommendations for a Hyatt within driving distance (6-8hrs) of Ohio with kids in tow?
Hyatt has announced that members making paid or award stays between 10/1/20-12/31/21 will receive 1 2020 AND 1 2021 elite qualifying night for each night stayed!
Does this mean you can retroactively earn Globalist in 2021 if you were a bit short in 2020?
Good roundup.
My chase offer is for 15% off $100+ with a $38 maximum.
hyatt made a one time exception in adding my 3rd party reservation to my hyatt account, if the rep attaches it manually does that trigger the triple points, and 2500 for the first stay?
Heck ya this will make me stay.
I can get 20 nights at a bad hyatt at $72/night, pay $1500.
Get 37K points, 20 nights to get 50/60 nights (4 suite upgrade, free 7 night). For $1500 i can get 4 suite upgrades and 2 nights at the Park Hyatt Vendome. Done!
37k for $1500? is it only for Globalist status with a WOH card?
No any status will get you minimum 24.5
Discoverist 24.5
Exploreist 25
Globalist 25.5
When using a WOH card
How does 20 nights get you 50/60 nights?
On everyday spending with the WOH card there is no bonuses ? like they did with 5K spending/ additional elite qualifying night?

Dan, or other experienced travelers. If I booked a stay for one person for 3 nights at the Hyatt Ziva Cancun, but my wife is coming with me, will they charge me more for her to stay in the one room with me? The reason I ask is online it has different pricing for one person or two people?
Yes, as its all inclusive.
I really want to get the Hyatt CC, do you think I should wait for a better sign up bonus? I feel like it’s coming any day now
That card rarely has increased bonuses. It had a 60K intro bonus when it launched, but it’s been 50K for quite some time now.
World of Hyatt told me that they don’t count my stay nor do they award points for my stay booked through Citi ThankYou because it was through Expedia. Does that make sense?
Yes, hotels only credit stays booked direct.
I already booked 3 nights at Ziva Cabo for 10/25. Just registered today since they extended the dates. But do I need to cancel, and rebook for rebate to take effect?
No need to rebook.
If a Globalist books two rooms at same hotel for same dates, would they get free parking for 2 vehicles? Thinking of doing a normal points booking or potentially use free night carts fr the 2nd room.
With the current promotion. Can anyone help it seems my best bet for getting biggest bang for my buck would be booking on my credit card/paid stay vs points. Is that right?
Can we get a more thorough breakdown of the earnings with the triple points promo and how that stacks with elite earnings? For example if i am explorist do i get 18 pts per dollar which is 6 base (5 plus 20%elite bonus) x3 plus another 4 from cc total of 22 pts per dollar?
