United announced that they will fly several new seasonal routes next year, including nonstop flights to places like the Azores, Bergen, Mallorca, and Tenerife!
The Azores flight is similar in length to a transcontinental flight and will be operated by United’s updated signature 737MAX 8, outfitted with bigger luggage bins, large HD screens, and bluetooth pairing at every seat. The Azores look stunning and nonstop flights on United will make them much more accessible, though it’s a bit disappointing that there won’t be lie-flat seating on the route.
Bergen and Tenerife will see 757-200 service with lie-flat 2-2 seats in business class and Mallorca will get Polaris widebody 767-300ER service. Amman will get 787-8 Dreamliner service.
United will also be adding a 2nd daily flight from Newark to Rome and flights like Chicago to Milan for next summer:
United will also resume several routes suspended due to COVID, like Newark to Tokyo/Haneda and Newark to Nice. The flight to Nice was supposed to launch in the summer of 2020, but that was pushed off due to COVID.
United will be dropping Newark to Manchester and Glasgow as well as San Francisco to Dublin.
Which of these new routes are you excited for?

Finally, a non-stop to PMI!!! Will make it so much easier to go home and visit the fam!
UA Zia thinking outside the box and that’s great ! BGO is what I’m most excited although previously with a stop in CPH wasnt terrible.. AMN is really interesting choice
Nooo. Why are they dropping MAN?
Flight was always relatively full!
Agreed its puzzling why very few airlines touch this route – I guess they want to force passengers thru their London hubs
That wouldn’t be a reason for United to drop it without a hub there.
I’d assume the flight simply isn’t profitable. A relatively full flight doesn’t mean it was filled profitably.
United is adding Also Newark to Prague
never heard of these destinations!
you need to get out more.
+1
Understanding there is a wide demographic audience on DD, I’d believe that for many Orthodox Jews, those destinations from EWR aren’t very valuable. I mean, Bergen Norway, Nice France, Frankfurt Germany. None of the German Jews I’ve met in my 33 years of life have any interest returning to Germany. There isn’t a large enough market for it, but I’d rather see EWR to Krakow, as that would make a it easier for a quick trip (without connections) to visit the horrors of the death camps.
Anyone gonna take the IAD- Amman flight to get to Israel?
