Having SMS Deal Notification Issues? Try These Options So That You Don’t Miss Out On Another Deal!

For the past several weeks, people who are subscribed to DansDeals SMS deal notifications via 40404 (Twitter fast follow without having a Twitter account) have been having problems getting notifications. This problem affects SMS notifications for all Twitter accounts. You can file a ticket with Twitter support, but they don’t seem to be in any rush to fix it.

Here are a few alternate options.

1. Twitter desktop site:

Step 1: Signup for a free Twitter account. (Once you setup this quick process there will be no need to visit Twitter if you don’t want to.)

Step 2: Click here to customize SMS messages.
You’ll need to verify your cell phone number.
Then be sure to check “Tweets from people you’ve enabled for mobile notifications.”
If you don’t want to be bothered at night then also be sure to turn off updates during any hours that you can specify.
Be sure to click to save these changes to your account.

Step 3: Click here to go to the @DansDeals page. Click on the follow button and then click on the 3 vertical dots next to the follow button and click on “turn on mobile notifications” in order to get a text message whenever there’s a new deal posted on DansDeals.com

You can always turn off mobile notifications in the future from the same menu.

If you change cell phone providers you may need to undo this process and do it again from scratch to re-enable text message alerts.

2. Twitter app push notifications:

Step 1: Download the Twitter app for iOS or Android and signup or login to your Twitter account.

Step 2: Search for DansDeals and click on follow.

Step 3: Click on the notification icon next to the follow button and enable notifications for “All Tweets” from @DansDeals.

Step 4: Click on the drop down settings menu and then on “settings and privacy.”

Step 4: Click on “Notifications” and then on “push notifications.”

Step 5: Enable push notifications for Tweets from people you follow. DansDeals should now should up in this section.

3. In-browser push notifications.

When you first visit DansDeals.com you should have the option to be notified of new posts. If you said “No thanks” you can still turn them on by clicking on the Secure icon in your browser’s URL bar and then editing the notifications settings:

4. Telegram notifications:

After a lengthy battle with a squatter, we finally got the rights to use the DansDeals channel on Telegram. That took us going to Apple and then Apple’s lawyers telling Telegram to give us the name or else their app would be deleted, but that’s a story for another time…

Step 1: Download Telegram for iOS or Android. You can also use Telegram on the web.

Step 2: Follow the @DansDeals channel and enable notifications.

What is your preferred method to receive notifications?

You can sign up via SMS as well, once you have a username and password setup, you’ll get SMS notification.

Doesn’t help for those who have dumbphones and rely on the texts to have their father/brother/cousin buy the deal for them. Yes, there are those people out there and no, they do not want to sign up for Twitter.

You can sign up via SMS as well, and you should receive the SMS with no issue. @dan maybe add to the post!?

Eli

What’s app?

Ben

We should have DansDeals WhatsApp group!

Moe

@Dan, please write the story with Apple on the blog. Because your name is trademarked, no one else is allowed to make a username with your name? Pretty cool. I guess that explains why telegram disappeared from the App Store at some point (Apple probably needed to show they were serious) https://mobile.twitter.com/KolHaolam/status/958874067049869312

How do I turn on notifications for trips to Israel?

Babs Sakler

Greetings, I have been getting WhatsApp messages since you started back in 2018 but over the last month they stopped and once I realized I was no longer getting them I put another request in and they started up for just one day and they stopped again. Is there a problem with DansDeals.com on WhatsApp messaging? I await your reply. Thanks and best regards, Babs
