The USA Today is reporting that the 2020 Summer Olympics will be delayed due to coronavirus.

They were supposed to have been held in Tokyo on July 24th.

A new timetable hasn’t been determined, but odds are that the games will be held in summer 2021.

Were you planning on flying to Tokyo for the games? Will you still go if they’re held there in 2021?

Yes – was planning on going. The bigger concern for me from a logistics standpoint isn’t the travel itself, but the tickets for the games. Are they going to be held on the same schedule? Will they re-issue tickets? My travel for 2021 will likely be dictated by what happens with my tickets to the events I purchased.

Aww, I had ANA first class tickets and hotels all lined up for baseball. Now I have to plan all over again. Obviously a trifle considering, but still.

Any thoughts on speculating on the same time 2021 and booking?

It became official.

What a relief. We all need to #stayhome until COVID-19 cases are zero.

Athletes would have been unfairly exposed during the their preparations for the games, which includes travel that would be happening over the next couple of months.
