After 2 years of strict entry rules, Australia and Singapore are loosening their entry rules.
Australia is now welcoming fully vaccinated tourists who have had 2 mRNA vaccine doses or 1 J&J vaccine dose. At least 7 days must have passed between your last vaccine dose and your date of entry. Children under 12 count as fully vaccinated.
Note that Australian states each have their own rules about testing requirements, which you can access here.
Singapore’s VTL (vaccinated travel lane) flights allows fully vaccinated tourists from countries like the USA to enter without quarantine. As of today, you only need to take an antigen test within 24 hours of arrival in Singapore and you must have only been to VTL countries, like the US and Canada, for 7 days before travel. Israel will be added to the VTL list on March 3rd.
Fully vaccinated tourists must have had 2 mRNA vaccine doses or 1 J&J vaccine dose. At least 14 days must have passed between your last vaccine dose and your date of entry. Children under 12 count as fully vaccinated.
Note that Singapore requires either a digital vaccine record through SMART/CLEAR or other options, or the paper vaccination card with a signed letter of attestation that you were vaccinated. I was able to get my SMART/CLEAR digital vaccine record through Rite Aid, where I was vaccinated last March/April.
I visited Singapore in 2013 and Melbourne, Sydney, Tasmania, Hamilton Island and the Great Barrier Reef in 2010/2011 on an epic round-the world trip. It’s great to see Asia Pacific countries starting to open up again.
What’s on your bucket list as the world reopens?

Bunch of idiots still requiring vaccines, like it makes any difference
You can say that again. At least Israel is finally going to allow unvaccinated people in!
It’s about control. It’s not about health. Never was about health since vaccinated are getting Covid at the same rate as vaxxed.
%100!! You are so right!!
I have zero desire to go their with all their crazy rules. Previously I would love to go there, not anymore. Vocations are meant to be fun. Australia reminds me of a root canal.
This!
Need to quarantine for 2 weeks at your own cost?
Where do you see that?
While the federal govt of AU controls the borders, each individual state control their quarantine rules, so IINM, only 3 states allow vaccinated arrivals to not quarantine. I’m sure that will slowly change, but slowly…
Now you can visit Vic, NSW, Qld, but AFAIK not SA, NT or WA (I don’t know about Tas, not ACT (although I’d expect ACT to follow NSW)
I think most tourists (not those visiting friends/family) will be very reluctant to visit any place that requires a Covid test upon arrival. Just too risky to be stuck in quarantine in a foreign country. That’s not why you go on vacation.
If not vaccinated “trust the science”
My husband and I are going for Pesach B’ezras Hashem to finally see our daughter and her family! It’s been on my husband’s bucket list to dive the Great Barrier Reef. Would you advise us on Kosher options for this week-long trip?
We brought kosher food from MEL/SYD to Tasmania and the north.
Frozen? Prepackaged self-heating? What and how did you bring?
Who needs to visit Australia or North Korea when you have Canada next door
Lol
