Where to start on how much we love Tabernacle?
I ate at Tabernacle last week with my wife, Dan, and our youngest brother Gavriel, who is a 2nd year law student at Columbia and managed to escape his campus unscathed.
They invited us out to try their fall menu, and wow, it was seasonal and wonderful!
Some of our favorite dishes were:
This tuna belly truffle dish, melted in my mouth, and the flavor popped! If you have never tried raw fish this is a perfect and terrible first dish to start with. It’s perfect because it doesn’t taste fishy at all, and it has an intense truffle flavor profile that as I mentioned before melts in your mouth. It is terrible because raw fish will only go down from here, this is the best raw fish dish I’ve ever had:
Then there is the famous Tabernacle Caesar Salad. It is prepared tableside while the server regales the history of the salad’s origin. One of the greatest debates on DDF is whether this salad is the greatest thing to ever happen to salads or if it is well, a salad. Just a salad. My take is, if you add double dressing, it is pretty wonderful while Dan insists it is one of the best salads of all time:
I’m a sucker for soup, for truffle, and for well-prepared cauliflower, so this Truffle Cauliflower soup really hit the spot! It screams fall and tastes like you are watching a cold snowfall while wrapped in a cozy blanket sitting in front of the fire and keeping warm with a delicious soup straight from the hearth:
The Korean Fried Chicken has become a staple item at Tabernacle and for good reason! Every bite is crisp, a little spicy, and totally addictive:
Stop what you are doing, go to Tabernacle, and order the Veal Gnocchi, this dish is a 10/10. I can count the dishes I’ve ranked a 10 on my 2 hands in my lifetime. This one is special. Every single bite has a new flavor depth that you missed on the bite before it. I would go to Tabernacle just for this dish. It is seasonal, so you don’t want to miss it:
Next, we had the Mushroom Risotto topped with fried shallots and a mix of Porcini Duxelles and Chanterelle mushrooms. If you love mushrooms this dish will make all your umami mushroom truffle dreams come true. This may be a hot take, but this risotto beats any dairy version I have ever had, it is that good!
I love ordering apps because you get to have more food and flavors to try, we were four people so we got to order apps and mains, but my favorite dishes of the night, besides the tuna, were right here, the Gnocci, Rissoto, and the Short Rib Kalbi Fried Rice:
The empanadas pictured above didn’t make it to my favorite list.
The steaks here are always a winner. The Delmonico Waygu Ribeye steak was prepared just how we requested it and it was delicious!
The seasonal Braised Wagyu Short Rib with horseradish mashed potatoes was very special. It melted in your mouth with incredibly savory and rich flavors:
Finally, we got to dessert and were so full we could barely move. But we must do it for the people!
We had these otherworldly doughnuts, on the menu they are called Chocolate Hazelnut Bomboloni, and you cannot miss these. Being from Cleveland we pride ourselves on being home to the best kosher donuts on the planet at our very own Unger’s Bakery. I must say these doughnuts were of a different caliber entirely, and I hope I get to return and have them again. We made sure that every reader will get one of these for free as a part of their FREE dessert platter!
Writing up this review made me hungry! I’m this close to booking flights to NYC for dinner this week.
Also, be sure you don’t miss their refreshing and unique cocktails! The Tabernacle Sour and the Passion Fruit Pucker cocktails are always winners here, I tried a new pear bourbon drink that was great as well:
I hope everyone has as wonderful an experience as we did, Tabernacle is truly trying to reinvent what fine kosher dining can be, and I think they are doing a fantastic job!
If you make a reservation today, you will get a free $60 dessert platter!

The OU.

If only there was this thing called the internet and they included it at the very top of their website
Food here is excellent — although something’s not right when a Dessert Platter is $60!
It’s not just 1 dessert! It’s an entire platter of multiple types of their desserts!
der inyan fun a dessert un der inyan fun multiple deserts
You’re describing THE salad and there’s no mention of Dan’s Deals’ Official Salad Correspondent?????
Do I need a minimum order in order to be eligible for free desert?
@JJ1000 ?
Same question!
Same question
My wife and I dined there Saturday night and I will say this, we believe that the food is the best kosher food you will find anywhere. The ambiance is so amazing and the food is out of this world. Meat falls apart in your mouth (Wagyu Carpaccio is our favorite) and their sauces are so amazing. The food is on the pricy end, but if you’re going to have a fancy dinner (anniversary, birthday, or other celebration) I cannot recommend enough.
Anyway to make a reservation for 12/22 and get this deal?
I did it in the morning but never got the email
Can I go just for dessert?
What is on the platter ?
I saw one pic from someone that went tonight!
Looked AMAZING!
Wasn’t a great pic or I’d share it lol
It had Hot Chocolate Souffle, the 4 doughnuts pictures above; I think a Ferraro rocher cake, 2 types of ice cream, and another pastry on it.
Was like 9 dessert pieces between the cakes, ice creams, and doughnuts!
Is there a minimum spend ?
Hi I did it on 11/12/24 at 10:19 before it said Dead on the screen. Am I still eligble for the Dessert Platter?
Is there supposed to be confirmation that one was accepted for this deal from Tabernacle?
