Update: The limited time 75,000 bonus miles and $250 travel credit signup bonus for the Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card will end at 2:59pm ET today, apply right now if you want to get this offer!

Limited Time Offer: Earn 75,000 Bonus Miles And $250 Travel Credit On The Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card!

Signup bonus:

For a limited time, you can earn 75,000 Capital One miles for opening the Capital One Venture Card and spending $4,000 in 3 months. With this limited-time offer, you’ll also get $250 to use on Capital One Travel in your first cardholder year! You can use that for airfare, hotels, or car rentals.

As you earn at least 2 miles per dollar everywhere, you’ll have at least 83,000 miles after spending $4,000 in 3 months. 83K miles can be used for $830 of travel, dining, or gift cards. Or it can be transferred into 83K airline miles where they can be worth much more!

Note that Capital One pulls and reports to all 3 of your credit reports. Capital One typically awards signup points even if you have the card in the past. It can be difficult, though it’s possible to get approved for more than 1 Capital One card every 6 months. You can have both the Venture and Venture X cards.

Annual fee:

There is a $95 annual fee for the primary card and no annual fee for additional cardholders.

Card earnings:

  • 2 miles per dollar everywhere.
  • 5 miles per dollar on hotels and rental cars booked through the Capital One Travel portal.
  • There are no foreign transaction fees.

Spend Threshold:

You’ll need to spend $4,000 on this card within 3 months.

You can pay your federal taxes for a 1.82% fee. If you overpay your taxes you can request a refund or apply it to your next year’s taxes.

My local natural gas company allows me to prepay up to $1,000 on a credit card for a $1.65 flat fee. That’s a great way to earn miles and help meet a spend threshold. My electricity supplier allows me to pay with a credit card for free as long as I am enrolled in autopay.

Card benefits:

  • Rental car CDW insurance
  • Extended warranty
  • Lost Luggage Insurance
  • Travel Accident Insurance
  • Purchase protection for items damaged or stolen within 90 days
  • Virtual card numbers

Use points for paid travel reimbursement:

You can redeem your points to pay yourself back for any travel related expenses (airfare, hotels, car rentals, cruises, ride sharing, etc) or book new travel at a value of 1 cent per point.

Global Entry/TSA Pre-Check Credit:

It costs $78 to apply for a 5 year TSA Pre-Check membership which makes flying pleasant again. Shorter lines, no need to remove your shoes, belt, jacket, or hat. You can keep your laptop and small liquids inside your carry-on. And you go through a good old fashioned metal detector instead of assuming the position in the body scanner.  If you charge it on your card the fee will be refunded.

It costs $100 to apply for a 5 year Global Entry membership which lets you bypass the customs line. If you have Global Entry you also get TSA Pre-Check for free.

If you charge it on your card the fee will be refunded. You can get refunded for this charge once every 4 years.

You can read more more about the differences in this post.

My whole family has Global Entry and it sure makes traveling a whole lot easier!

Capital One Lounge Passes:

For use in 2024 only, cardholders receive 2 visits to Capital One Lounges or Plaza Premium Lounges.

Capital One Lounges feature grab and go food with to-go bags for your flight, fully stocked bars with local beers and craft cocktails, coffee bars, work zones, exercise rooms with Peloton bikes and yoga mats, nursing rooms, kids rooms, soundproof relaxation rooms, luggage lockers, multi-faith prayer rooms, and shower suites!

Hertz elite status:

Primary and additional cardholders get free Hertz Five Star elite status. Benefits include skip the counter and e-return, 25% bonus points, space available upgrades, wider ultimate choice availability, and more!

Excellent MLB Redemptions

Capital One cardholders have access to exclusive tickets to special events such as All-Star Week, the MLB Postseason, and the World Series presented by Capital One.

Plus, you can redeem just 5,000 miles for ultra-premium MLB seats in every ballpark, for every game. There are 4 tickets available for every game at that rate. The best time to buy is when each month’s games go live, which are posted here.

I have gone to games with amazing seats in NYC, DC, LA, Anaheim, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Miami, Pittsburgh, San Diego, and San Francisco, and hope to go to many more to complete my 30 ballpark tour using my Capital One miles at an excellent value!

Getting $200 seats for 5,000 miles is a great deal!

Product changes:

You may be able to change between the no annual fee Capital One Venture One Rewards Credit Card, the $95/year Capital One Venture Rewards Credit Card and the $395/year Capital One Venture Rewards X Credit Card.

Killer combos:

The $95/year Capital One Venture Card and the $395/year Capital One Venture Rewards X Credit Card offer 75,000 points for spending $4,000 in 3 months, though only the Venture card has the current limited time offer. Both these cards offer 2 miles per dollar everywhere and the ability to transfer points into airline miles and hotel points. The Venture X adds a $300 annual travel credit, a 10K mile annual anniversary bonus, lounge access, elite status, Global Entry/PreCheck, and more.

Add the no annual fee Capital One SavorOne Cash Rewards Credit Card and earn an effective 10 transferrable miles per dollar on Uber/Uber Eats and free Uber One through 11/14/24. You’ll also earn 3 miles per dollar on groceries, dining, entertainment and streaming!

Is there a post somewhere that talks about the Capital One Lounges serving kosher grab and go food/drinks? I am specifically asking about JFK. Thank you!

Jacob

If one has already the Venture x, can he still get this offer ?

al

I recently got the 75000 offer without the 250 TC, what’s the best way to request a match’ they dont seem to have a secure message center?

Mendy

Hey Dan, I missed my 3-month $20K mark on spending on Venture X by a couple of weeks. Thus far, I’ve had no luck calling support. Do you have any ideas?

Mike

any way i can turn the $250 travel credit into cash?

Sam

I had this card and closed it about a year ago. How do I know forsure if I’ll get the signup bonus if applying again?

Yoel

Does this card have primary rental car insurance? When you talk about the benefits of the card, you do not mention if it is primary or not?

Israeli

I just tried applying to this card and for the first time ever was rejected. My FICO is over 830 and I carry no debt. The other odd thing was they asked me if I held any additional citizenship (I’ve never seen that question before). I disclosed USA and Israeli citizenship and provided my US address. Not sure why I was rejected.

Avi

Were you within six months of approval for another capital on consumer card?

Israeli

Also, how much does a rejected application impact my FICO score?

Avi

Typically 3-5 points nothing major however credit card companies may reject your application based on too many hard checks independent from your regular credit score

moshe

got approved instantly. tysm!!

Barry

my wife was rejected.
had the card previously in 2019 and cancelled it in 2021

SS

Is the cash back option from capital one .01 a point?

Sam

Had this card a few years ago. Can I get the signup bonus again?

Yid

Los Dos?

Are you eligible for this if you already have the Venture X?

Yid

Yes. They are 2 different cards

Chaim

I got approved instantly, thanks, greatly appreciated!

This will help me afford travel for my cousin’s bar mitzvah next year.

G_Manush

can you get the bonus on this venture card and then apply for the venture x and get the bonus as well?

David

Dan, the fine print on the Capital One application page says this: Existing or previous cardmembers are not eligible for this product if they have received a new cardmember bonus for this product in the past 48 months.

You say in the post that ”Capital One typically awards signup points even if you have the card in the past”

Can you please confirm your information is accurate?
Thank you

Avi

I typically do not get approved for credit cards with a sign up bonus as I am relatively new to credit yet I got approved for this one. Thank you Dan

NatiG

It’s been about 8 months since I cancelled my card. Strong credit and income. Online application rejected.

David

I applied today and was denied. I have good credit and income. I’m assuming I was denied because it hasn’t been 48 months since I last received the new card bonus.

Business pls

waiting for the business offer…

john

Have opened hundreds of credit cards througout the years, good income, great credit, but have never been approved for a Capital One card (I have only applied for venture or venture x). Any tips for getting approved? It seems like Capital One isn’t interested in churners/ppl with good credit.

123

what was the reason on your denial letter?

d

worth applying or nah?

Gavin

If my TSA Pre-Check is expiring, how difficult is it to change over and apply for Global Entry? Do I have to start the process from scratch or can I use my existing TSA Pre-Check to streamline the process?

Ari

@Dan I applied at 2:57 and link was showing 75k + $250 travel credit and completed application and got approved at 3:00. Does it go when you start or when you finished?

A N

My son got card, fulfilled the $4,000 threshold by Sept. 9th but we have only received the points. He has been calling Capital One to ask where the $250 travel credit is and CO keeps insisting it was not part of this offer. Any suggestions on where we can find the official offer wordage to show CO as proof? We have been reading from Dan’s Deals thus far
