His is this compared to dell deal?

Mark

How do you compare this to the dell deal. I currently have a vostro and want to upgrade

Ber

@Mark This computer has a few specs that are better than then Dell. It has more RAM, it has a higher resolution monitor, and a larger hard drive.
This one does not have a CD/DVD drive and the Dell does if that is important to you.

This also has a higher end processor than the Dell. The i5-4200m is much more powerful than the lower power i5-4200u the Dell comes with

I bought this machine and like it. However, I am very dismayed by the screen. It only tilts back like 110 degrees. When I am sitting up straight, I am either looking through the bottom of my eyes or cranking my neck down. Alternatively, I find that I just slouch to compensate. Besides this, I like it–but having a pain in the neck is not fun!

Are all laptops like this nowadays? My mom emailed me a picture of her Lenova; it looks like it might have a max incline of 130 degrees (which is superior to mine but not by much). My old Gateway doesn’t have this problem at all. I am thinking perhaps laptop manufacturers started instituted a more rigid, limited hinge due to TouchScreen capability? Just (a completely uneducated, gut) guess.

I am considering buying this stand, to help alleviate my neck strain:

Anyone used this before?

Right now, I am leaning toward not returning this and hoping for a solution that works.

Mark

Is this better than the Friday deal with hp?

Mike B

@ Yehudis

It looks like that stand will solve your problem. I use my laptops on tables that put it at eye level, so I don’t have that issue.

The stand you are referring to its very well rated on Amazon, in fact the non swivel version is the #1 rated stand on Amazon.

@Mark: just a few quick obvious diff; Friday one was a i7 processor, and the resolution wasn’t as good (wasn’t full HD , however you did have the option of adding it for a sum)
